1972 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Tribute

Description

This car is NOT an original, numbers-matching Chevelle SS. However, it is a beautiful tribute to that iconic model. It has been completely rebuilt and transformed into an even better, safer, and more modernized version of its former original self. Under the hood lies a Mark IV 454-V8 motor powered by a Holley Sniper EFI system that sits on a BBC aluminum manifold and breathes through ceramic coated Hedman headers. It has several additional upgrades that are listed below, as well as chrome detailing: Upgrades & Features: Holley Sniper EFI Aeromotive Integrated Conversion Fuel Tank Weiand Black Finned Oil Pan Powermaster Mini High Torque Starter Powermaster 150 amp Alternator (chromed) Brake Booster (chromed) Tuff Stuff Power Steering Pump (chromed) Supercool long-necked BBC Water Pump (chromed) B & M 2000 RPM Torque Converter Scat High Back Bucket Seats Chevelle Console and Horseshoe Shifter Flaming River Stainless Steel Steering Column Volante Black Leather SS Steering Wheel FM Receiver with Bluetooth Accessories Billet Foot Pedals and Hose Auto Meter Arctic White Gauges Bowtie Bolts 100+ Gardner-Westcott Chevy Dynacorn Stainless Steel Hood Hinges Complete Front to Back Hotchkis High Performance Suspension System Flowmaster Exhaust System Hedman Ceramic Coated Headers Optima Redtop Battery BBC Black Finned Valve Covers Leed Master Brake Cylinder and Leed Electric Vacuum Pump Federal Super Steel Radial Tires A California car, it was regularly driven and maintained in the Golden State until the mid-2010s when it was sold to individuals in Iowa who converted it into a Chevelle SS. A fresh 454-V8 was installed, the Turbo-Hydramatic transmission was rebuilt, an SS hood was installed, as was a floor shifter, along with bucket seats and all the SS badges. Purchased in January, 2018, from a body shop owner in Iowa, it had just been given a brilliant metallic silver paint job with black rally stripes. It was transported back to Winnipeg, in a covered trailer, where it has resided since. Since that time, it has been a gradual restoration process that has been realized in a deliberate and meticulous manner. Cars over 50 years old are very frustrating as always have unexpected and unwanted surprises as restoration begins. It took several years to fully complete the restoration but all original systems now work as they should. It is a much safer car with top-of-the-line high performance parts throughout. And it has been subtly modernized while still maintaining the appearance, sound, and appreciation of a 1970s muscle car. Worth mentioning is that it has a minor seepage issue originating from the rear main seal. On +50-year-old cars, seepage is a common occurrence, but not a serious issue. I’ve made peace with it and will not be fixing it anytime soon. However, I also fully understand that some individuals cannot, and will not, abide the presence of any residue under their vehicles. It’s for that reason that a new Fel Pro rear main seal will accompany the sale of the car for those I-can’t-stand-to-see-anything-under-my-car types. In August of 2025, the car was professionally appraised by a member in good standing with the Auto Mediators Association and with the International Automotive Appraisers Association. After a very comprehensive appraisal looking at all pertinent areas of the car, its final evaluation was appraised at $72,630 USD or the equivalent of between $98,000–$101,000 CDN. Access to the final appraisal’s report can be freely examined and reproduced for the new owner. Not only is this vehicle a head-turning, beautifully restored car and a source of pride and enjoyment to own and to drive, it is also an appreciating asset that will maintain its value over time.,VIN 1D37H2L509774 Year 1972 Make Chevrolet Model Chevelle SS Tribute Engine 454 V8 Transmission 3-Speed Automatic Location Coast 2 Coast Collector Car Auction In Yard No
