Reverse Painted Silhouette Glass Pictures "Old Fashioned Garden" and "Blossom Time"

Description

A pair of reverse painted glass pictures by R. P. F. Co. from their "Reliance" product line, featuring silhouette women with floral motifs. The first picture, titled "Old Fashioned Garden," depicts a woman holding a rose with a basket of flowers on her arm, under a flowering branch. It is signed "Smith Frederick" in the lower left corner. The second picture, titled "Blossom Time," shows a woman reaching for flowers on a branch, with a floral skirt design. Both pieces are framed in black and brown wooden frames. The reverse side of the pictures includes descriptive text stating they are "B.E.-20" and are made with a hand process duplicating "Butterfly Wing" pictures, transferring delicate colors to the glass to create a pearly quality.
