Springfield M1D Sniper 30-06

Make: Springfield Model: M1D Sniper Caliber: 30-06 Action: Semi Barrel: 24 Serial # 3696753 M1D Garand with serial number 3696753 is a highly collectible, late-World War II era rifle manufactured by Springfield Armory in April 1945 (Right at the end of World War II in Europe). The M1D was an official U.S. Army sniper variant of the standard M1 Garand. It is important to note how M1Ds were created: Conversion, Not Factory Line: Springfield Armory did not build M1D sniper rifles from scratch on the assembly line. Instead, standard service rifle receivers (mostly from late WWII production) were pulled from inventory and converted into M1Ds during the early 1950s for the Korean War and later conflicts. Rifle has the open 'P" proof stamp from an ordnance depot overhaul and correct accessories such as the screwed in leather cheek pad, T37 prong style flash hider and of course the M84 2.2X telescopic sight.
