Antique Blue Number 5 Salt Glazed Stoneware Crock | Primitive 5-Gallon Pot

Description: A classic late 19th or early 20th-century antique primitive industrial stoneware kitchen storage crock pot. Wheel-thrown with a heavy, straight-sided cylindrical body, a reinforced thick upper collar rim, and a smooth greyish-white salt glaze finish. The front face features a prominent, hand-stamped cobalt blue ink numeral capacity hallmark. Dimensions: Possesses a standard 5-gallon volume capacity, standing approximately 12 inches high by 11.5 inches in diameter. Markings: Detailed on the front shoulder with a distinct stamped cobalt blue number "5". The flat, raw clay base ring is unmarked by the historic pottery foundry. Condition: Weathered primitive condition. The heavy crock shows a significant structural hairline crack originating from a small chip on the upper collar rim, trailing vertically down the front side panel through the blue capacity mark, and wrapping under across the unglazed bottom base. The interior basin remains clean with standard firing blemishes, micro-pitting, and light historic storage residue.
