Antique Griswold Cast Iron Meat Grinder No 0 & Potato Ricer Kitchen Lot

Description: A primitive four-piece collection of antique American food preparation tools. The centerpiece is a heavy cast iron manual meat grinder with a bench-clamp base, an integrated iron auger mechanism, and a hand-crank arm completed by a contoured wooden grip handle. Accompanying the grinder is a heavy-duty mechanical potato ricer or fruit press featuring a long double-lever squeezing handle finished in distressed sage-green paint, a matching plunge disc, and a removable perforated metal strainer basket insert. The grouping is completed by a matching pair of solid maple hand-lathed rolling pins or pastry muller sticks crafted with bulbous rounded handle knobs. Dimensions: The Griswold No. 1 meat grinder stands 10.25 inches high. The potato ricer tool measures 11.25 inches in length with an interior basket diameter of 3.75 inches. The matching wooden rolling pins each measure 11 inches in total length. Markings: The upper housing dome of the grinder features the iconic embossed cross-in-circle manufacturer hallmark reading "GRISWOLD". The reverse hopper flank is cast with the model tracking designation "No. 0", and the inner base clamp arm is stamped with the piece code "401". The remaining metal ricer and hand-lathed wooden pins are unbranded. Condition: Authentic primitive condition showing extensive historic workshop use. The Griswold cast iron grinder is mechanically complete and functions smoothly, displaying a heavily weathered surface patina, localized oxidation spots, and finish thinning; the wooden crank handle remains stable. The green potato ricer is structurally sound with a functional hinge, showing significant paint loss, superficial rust scratching, and metal discoloration along the lever rails. The two wooden pins are solid, exhibiting minor surface scuffs, small wood grains, and a tiny spot of residual red ink on one tip.
