Antique Lador Swiss Musical Christmas Tree Stand | Cast Aluminum & Wood Base

Description: A rare, early to mid-20th-century antique musical Christmas tree stand base. Built with a heavy, domed cast-aluminum housing decorated with an embossed geometric filigree border pattern, mounted over a thick, dark-stained circular tiered wooden platform base. Features an integrated hand-crank winding lever complete with its original turned wood handle knob, an internal clockwork musical movement, a top-opening tree trunk socket fitted with an internal center support pin, and an electrical bypass cord mechanism designed to power Christmas tree lights. Dimensions: The circular wooden base measures approximately 11.5 inches in diameter, and the complete unit stands 6.25 inches in height to the top of the center trunk socket. Markings: The upper cast aluminum housing is stamped with a crisp, stylized script manufacturer hallmark logo reading "Lador" positioned directly above a block-text country of origin marker reading "SWISS". The interior electrical socket array houses original vintage hardware contacts, and the undercarriage displays raw natural wood grain with independent factory tool circles. Condition: Good antique condition, partially functional. The internal mechanical music box movement is fully operational, winding up via the hand crank and playing music smoothly. The exterior metal dome shows a naturally aged matte finish with minor localized oxidation spotting, light surface scuffs, and a small area of residual grey adhesive or old tape on one side. The electrical cord and wiring insulation are aged and brittle; due to the vintage nature of the electrical components, the lighting feature is untested and sold strictly as-is for restoration or display purposes.
