Vintage Mid-Century Modern Black Metal Wire Folding Tripod Plant Stand

This vintage Mid-Century Modern tripod plant stand features a clever, minimalistic space-saving design from the 1950s or 1960s. Formed from heavy-gauge industrial black metal wire, the frame is engineered with a central pin axis that allows the entire three-legged structure to fold completely flat for seasonal storage or transit. The stylized top cradle is perfectly contoured to securely support medium-sized tapered ceramic, terracotta, or clay flower pots. Lot Includes: 1 Vintage black metal wire folding tripod plant stand Please review all photos carefully to evaluate the exact cosmetic condition and weathering before bidding. Condition Overview Frame Construction and Function: The folding plant stand is in structurally sound, solid vintage condition. The central swiveling hinge mechanism remains straight and functional, allowing the stand to expand and compress flat without binding. The heavy-gauge wire rods are free of major structural bends or cracks at the welded joints. Surface Finish and Wear: The original black finish exhibits a naturally weathered patina consistent with age and probable outdoor patio use. There is general surface oxidation, light pitting, and paint loss visible along the length of the tripod legs and inside the top pot cradle ring. The bottom loops of the tripod feet are intact, showing typical shelf-wear friction and minor ground scraping.
