Antique Cyclone Seeder & Primitive Manual Corn Planters | Two Piece Farm Lot

Description: A pair of early 20th-century primitive American manual agricultural hand tools. The lot features a traditional long-handled wooden drop planter hand-finished in a weathered teal-green paint, fitted with a side-mounted sheet metal seed hopper can with a hinged lid. Accompanying it is a two-handed spring-action step corn planter constructed from solid timber planks finished in a distressed barn-red stain, equipped with an open cylinder green sheet-metal feed drop reservoir and dual hand-turned wooden handle grips. Both tools are designed with pointed iron ground-insertion shoes at the base to open soil furrows. Dimensions: The longer green planter measures approximately 34.25 inches in length by 6.25 inches in width. The red two-handled step planter measures 33.5 inches in length by 9.5 inches wide from handle to handle. Markings: The hinged metal container on the green tool retains a partial, heavily weathered historic paper advertising label. The yellow-ochre decal features bold block typography reading "CYCLONE" alongside regulatory operational scripts. The red farm tool is unbranded by its original maker. Condition: Authentic primitive condition showing extensive historic agricultural use and age. Both wooden handles and structural frames are solid, showing beautiful natural grain contraction lines, localized wood loss, and severe edge scuffs. The metal seed hoppers display significant surface tarnish, original enamel paint chipping, and localized red-brown rust oxidation. The iron base ground shoes show advanced oxidation wear and a rich dark patina. The paper Cyclone label features advanced surface tearing, discoloration, and partial edge loss as shown in the catalog photos.
