1957A & 1957B $1 Silver Certificates - 2-Note Circulated Collector Lot

Description

Designation: United States Small Size $1 Silver Certificate Multi-Note Lot Mintage / Series Years: Series 1957A & Series 1957B Mint Location: Bureau of Engraving and Printing (Washington, D.C.) Denomination: One Dollar ($1.00 USD each / $2.00 Total Face Value) Composition: Paper Currency Grade/Condition: Circulated / Very Fine to Extremely Fine (Mixed VF–EF Tiers) Lot Composition & Variety Identification: This 2-note estate currency group features two consecutive design iterations of the small-size federal silver certificate program issued during the late 1950s and early 1960s: Note 1 (Top / Series 1957A): Issued during the signature combination term of Elizabeth Rudel Smith (Treasurer of the United States) & C. Douglas Dillon (Secretary of the Treasury). Serial Number: L91551063A (Plate position B694). Note 2 (Bottom / Series 1957B): Issued during the signature combination term of Kathryn O'Hay Granahan (Treasurer of the United States) & C. Douglas Dillon (Secretary of the Treasury). Serial Number: S50563976A (Plate position A740). Condition & Eye Appeal Notes: 1957A Certificate (Top): Shows strong, clean paper body integrity with sharp ink contrast. Displays natural, honest circulation wear including soft vertical folds and minor corner rounding, but remains free of distracting stains or edge tears. 1957B Certificate (Bottom): Displays a deeper, naturally aged tan-brown paper tone from heavier historical handling. Features generalized surface wrinkling, pocket creases, and minor fiber softening along the margins. The bold blue Treasury seal and blue serial inks remain deeply saturated and highly crisp. Reverse Graphics: Both notes display the beautiful, classic emerald-green geometric layout featuring the Great Seal of the United States split across the centralized "ONE" text. Reverse surfaces display minor generalized fold lines matching their respective obverses. Presentation: Each note comes individually protected and cleanly housed inside a semi-rigid clear plastic currency sleeve.
