Vintage Bird Medallion Yellow Crackle Glaze Tall Pottery Vases - Pair

Description A striking matched pair of vintage multi-use umbrella stands or tall cylindrical floor vases by an unknown studio art pottery maker. These heavy stoneware cylinders feature a flared rim profile finished in a glossy, warm custard yellow glaze with an intentional fine-line underglaze crackle effect. The front of each vessel displays a prominent embossed medallion depicting a stylized songbird or dove resting in a circular nest. The body, rim, and base are further embellished with a rustic, sponge-applied brown slip accent pattern. Structurally substantial, these country primitive pieces function perfectly as entryway umbrella holders or tall hearth vases. Dimensions Height: Approximately 11.5 inches (29.2 cm) each Top Diameter: Approximately 6.25 inches (15.9 cm) each Condition Report True Ceramic Structure: Both stoneware vases are structurally sound, maintaining their heavy, durable composition with stable bases and unwarped circular openings. True Interior Condition: The interior glaze layers are intact and free from structural cracks. The bottom floors display characteristic unglazed areas, faint kiln blemishes, and minor superficial ring marks from production. True Glaze & Rim Assessment: The exterior crackle glaze remains bright and lustrous on both pieces. The rims, raised bird medallions, and bases are completely free of structural fractures or large chips. Minor surface variations in the brown sponge decoration are entirely original to the hand-applied factory finishing process.
