Hazel-Atlas Florentine No. 2 Yellow Depression Glass Plates & Bowl Lot - 5 Pcs

Description A beautifully matched 5-piece collection of original 1930s Depression-era transparent yellow glass table service items produced by the Hazel-Atlas Glass Company. The lot features four salad or luncheon plates alongside a wide, low centerpiece console bowl, all elegantly molded in the highly sought-after Florentine No. 2 design (frequently designated by collectors as the "Poppy" pattern). Each individual piece displays the signature all-over, intricate intaglio motif composed of scrolling poppy blossoms, delicate lace border loops, and geometric diamond cross-hatching in the central field. True to the Florentine No. 2 production form, the plates display a modified square outline with soft, scalloped corners and a completely smooth, non-ridged outer rim lip. This particular glass batch features the signature "Florentine Yellow" or "Topaz" transparent hue, giving off a brilliant, warm amber-yellow glow under standard room lighting.  Lot Contents & Dimensions Square Flared Luncheon Plates (4): Modified square silhouette; each measures approximately 8.5 inches (21.6 cm) across. Flared Console Serving Bowl (1): Wide circular form with low-slung, flared sides; measures approximately 10 inches (25.4 cm) in diameter.  Condition Report True Glass Structural Integrity: All five pieces are structurally sound and retain beautiful clarity throughout the molded designs. There are no deep structural stress cracks, impact fractures, or clouding lines present within the glass matrix of any piece. True Rim & Foot Assessment: A rigorous close-up examination confirms that the outer delicate scalloped plate edges, the bowl's top rim profile, and all corresponding base footer rings are remarkably well-preserved. There are no standard structural chips, jagged impacts, or hidden flea bites along the peripheral edges. True Surface Wear: Consistent with vintage pressed glassware of this age, the smooth upper faces of the plates reveal very light, superficial utensil markings, light stacking scuffs, and minor factory straw marks trapped within the glass from the original pressing process, which do not detract from its overall presentation.
