King Edward VIII Coronation Cup & Saucer 1937, England

Description

Commemorative porcelain cup and saucer manufactured in England for the planned coronation of King Edward VIII, dated May 12th, 1937. The matching set features transfer portraits of King Edward VIII surrounded by heraldic elements and Union Jacks with gold gilt accents. Both pieces are marked "Made in England" on the underside, indicating English origin. The decoration remains vivid, though the glaze shows signs of age-related crazing. This collectible set is historically significant because of Edward VIII's short reign and eventual abdication. See photos for measurements, if taken.
