Antique Metal Hardwood & Porcelain Furniture Stem Casters

Description: A massive restoration and hardware salvage estate group lot featuring twenty-four antique and vintage stem casters designed for furniture legs and cabinet bases. The highly diverse collection includes classic socket-insert grip neck stems and grip ring stems paired with multiple wheel composition types. Featured varieties include a trio of elegant white porcelain ceramic wheel casters with heavy brass-plated iron forks, four mid-century modern black polymer swiveling wheels fitted with bright brass-finished hood plates, an individual brass-hooded black composite wheel assembly on a zinc-plated post, and a comprehensive assortment of sixteen primitive cast iron and solid hardwood wheel casters. Dimensions: Wheel diameters vary widely across the collection, ranging between 1.0 inch to 2.25 inches in diameter. Insert stems measure between 1.5 inches to 2.75 inches in total length. Markings: Unmarked by the original foundries, which is typical for late 19th and early 20th-century domestic furniture hardware runs. Condition: Weathered antique salvage condition. The entire twenty-four piece grouping is structurally solid with no cracked mounting forks, fractured attachment pins, or broken wheels. All pieces exhibit authentic workshop age and rustic cosmetic wear. The cast iron and wooden components display advanced red-brown rust oxidation, extensive finish thinning, and a deep dark tarnish patina. The porcelain wheels are structurally sound with minor localized surface staining and embedded storage soil along their rolling surfaces. Mechanical swiveling action varies across the individual assemblies due to age and minor internal rust.
